• 28th June 2009 - Festival of Dance at Noosa

If you can't make it to the Yarraman Christmas Carnival on Saturday 13th December (see story below), you can also get to see the Barkers Creek Bush Band at the Kumbia Christmas Carnival in Kumbia on Sunday 14th December.

The Carnival held in and around Kumbia Hall on the Bunya Highway from 5:00pm until late in the evening. Features of this year's event (which is Kumbia's 9th annual Christmas Carnival) will include the town's traditional Festival of Christmas Trees and the hall itself will be decorated as part of the Kumbia Christmas Lights Competition. There'll also be face-painting and games for children, the drawing of the Kumbia Christmas Raffle for a giant Christmas hamper prize (valued at over $250!), as well as lots of quick ham and chook raffles during the evening.

A BBQ will be operating too and special Santa burgers, Santa's Helper Burgers and Santa's Little Helper burgers will be available at very reasonable prices. Santa himself will be paying a visit to give away sample bags to children up to Year 7 at around 7:00pm. There'll also be lots of market stalls and beautiful Christmas displays right around the town - and we'll be providing live musical entertainment from 5:00pm until around 8:00pm if you fancy a bit of a jig!

The Yarraman and District Progress Association's very popular annual Yarraman Christmas Carnival will be held at the Yarraman Community Grounds on the Yarraman-Cooyar Road (the New England Highway) from 3:00pm until around 10:00pm on Saturday 13th December 2008.

The Carnival will kick off with a Street Parade from the Yarraman Post Office to the Community Grounds at 3:00pm. There'll be slides, rides, food stalls and musical entertainment (including the Yarraman School Choir) to keep everyone happily involved until 6:00pm when Santa arrives with presents for the children.

After a dinner break, this will be followed with a giant fireworks display at 8:00pm, and them the entertainment will continue with bands and a magician until around 10:00pm.

The Barkers Creek Bush Band will be one of the bands performing at this year's Christmas Carnival and naturally we'd like to see all our fans there for a rollicking good time. We'll also have copies of our CD-ROM on sale if you want to pick up a great Chrisrtmas present (or two!), and we'll be happy to autograph them if you want something truly unique to add to your record collection.

18th November 2008: We launched our new web site today and we hope you like it.

While it's not completely finished yet (we still have bios of the band members, extra photos and some sound clips off our new CD to add to it), we hope it provides a quick overview of what we do. We also hope it will make us easy to find in future if you want to book the band for a function or event that you're planning.
